Steve Dunn Biography

Steve Dunn was born in the late 1950s and grew up in the bustling University City of Cambridge. He was a pupil at Cambridgeshire High School for Boys, commonly known then as 'The County'. His favourite subject then was art and in his final year he won the school art prize for his work.
His parents both had military backgrounds, so when the time came to choose a career he was guided towards doing something in the Royal Air Force. He enlisted as an aircraft mechanic and later retrained as an avionics technician working on Jaguar ground attack aircraft from their base at Coltishall in Norfolk.
His leisure time was spent riding and maintaining his much loved motorcycles, mainly Nortons and Laverdas, and in the mid-eighties turning to various 4 cylinder Japanese machinery.

Steve served in several NATO countries during the Cold War and later, as a civilian, worked for British Aerospace in Saudi Arabia at Khamis Mushayt.
Looking for a more creative career, Steve then spent the next fifteen years working for a reprographics company closer to his home in Norfolk where he learned all aspects of the printing industry, studio photography and the graphic arts industry in general. He started drawing and painting in his spare time, and in 1997 was commissioned to produce a series of classic car paintings for Pole Position Publishing in Norwich. The same year he created his first on-line art gallery to show his paintings on the internet. This lead to many requsts for examples of his work. With a growing portfolio and a large number of practical skills behind him, he turned self-employed in 2005 and could at last realise and persue his childhood dream of being an artist.

Since 2005 his prints business has steadily grown. Specialising in car and motorcycle paintings he is continuing to produce artwork, not only for himself but also for a number of international clients including the BMW Car Club of America and the Vintage Motorcycle Club. Steve is truly enthusiastic about what he does and even when chilling out in his spare time is thinking about what he wants to create next. His work is now becoming much sought after world-wide and will be very collectable in the future. However, Steve's modesty would never admit to being good at what he does but public demand speaks volumes. /Prof. Mike Symonds, M.A./.
