The 1989 Yamaha FZR750R OW01 was a motorcycle that embodied Yamaha's commitment to winning on the racetrack while offering a homologation special that enthusiasts could own. Powered by a 749cc inline-four engine with five valves per cylinder, the OW01 produced around 120bhp providing blistering performance with a top speed of over 160mph. The bike was designed with racing in mind. It featured a lightweight aluminum frame, fully adjustable suspension, and a race-tuned exhaust system. The OW01's handling was exceptional, with razor-sharp agility and stability that made it a force to be reckoned with on both the track and the road. Its aggressive styling with a full fairing, dual headlights, and bold Yamaha graphics, highlighted its racing pedigree. The 1989 Yamaha FZR750R OW01 is celebrated as one of the very best sportbikes of its era, a machine that offered race-ready performance in a road-legal package.
