"Triumph X-75 Hurricane" (1973)
The 1973 Triumph X-75 Hurricane is a
motorcycle that stands out as one of the most distinctive and bold
designs of the 1970s. Created by American designer Craig Vetter, the
Hurricane was built on the platform of the Triumph Trident but featured
radical styling that set it apart from anything else on the market. The
bike's most striking feature was its elongated swooping fiberglass
bodywork, which included a teardrop fuel tank, a sculpted seat, and
three silencers that swept upwards in a most dramatic fashion. Powered
by a 740cc inline-3 four stroke engine, the Hurricane produced 58bhp,
offering strong performance with a top speed of around 110mph. The
bike's light weight and responsive handling made it a joy to ride, while
