[art #434brn]. Limited Edition Print by Steve Dunn.
The 1974 Kawasaki 900 Z1A continued the legacy
of its predecessor with subtle enhancements that made it even more
refined and desirable. Retaining the powerful 903cc inline-four engine
that delivered 82bhp, the Z1A offered the same exhilarating
performance that had made the original Z1 a sensation. The bike could
reach a top speed of around 130mph, with a smooth and responsive power
delivery that set it apart from its competitors. The 1974 Z1A was
finished in a striking dark red and orange colour scheme, which became known
as the "Tiger Stripe" due to its bold and aggressive appearance. This
model also featured improvements to the suspension and braking systems
enhancing its overall handling and rider confidence. The Z1A maintained
the iconic styling of the original Z1, with its teardrop fuel tank, four
exhaust pipes, and chrome accents, but with a fresh new look that
appealed to a broader audience. The Kawasaki 900 Z1A is cherished by
collectors for its combination of performance, reliability, and timeless
design, representing the peak of early 1970s superbike engineering.
