[art #482]. Limited Edition Print by Steve Dunn.
This second painting of the popular Honda RC30 shows it
from the right hand side with it's distinctive single-sided swinging arm.
The Honda VFR750R, commonly known by its model
code 'RC30', is a legendary motorcycle that was designed with one purpose
in mind: to dominate on the racetrack. Introduced in 1987 the RC30 was
a homologation special built to meet the requirements for the World
Superbike Championship. Powered by a 748cc V4 engine the RC30 produced
around 112bhp which combined with its lightweight
construction made it a formidable competitor on the track. The V4
engine featured gear-driven cams, a characteristic that not only
improved reliability and precision but also gave the bike a distinctive
mechanical whine that is beloved by enthusiasts. The RC30's chassis was
also advanced with components such as Showa suspension, a single-sided
swing-arm, and lightweight wheels, all contributing to its exceptional
handling and agility. The bike's design was both functional and
beautiful, with clean aerodynamic lines and a minimalist aesthetic that
emphasised its racing pedigree. The Honda VFR750R RC30 remains one of
the most iconic and collectible sportsbikes ever made and is celebrated for its
engineering excellence, racing success, and beauty of design.
