[art #400]. Limited Edition Print by Steve Dunn.

The Honda NR750, introduced in 1992, is a motorcycle that stands as a testament to Honda's engineering innovation and ambition. Often referred to as the "Oval Piston" bike, the NR750 featured an extraordinary 747.7cc V4 engine with eight valves per cylinder, made possible by its oval, 'Spam can' shaped pistons. This unique design allowed the engine to function like a V8, producing a remarkable 125 horsepower at 14,000 RPM, which was absolutely groundbreaking for its time. The NR750 wasn't just about its engine; it was also a showcase of advanced technology and materials. The bike featured a lightweight aluminium frame, a single-sided swing-arm, and a full carbon fibre fairing, contributing to its exceptional handling and performance. Its design was equally ahead of its time, with sleek, aerodynamic lines and a distinctive underseat exhaust system that gave it a slightly futuristic appearance. Being very expensive to build, the NR750 was produced in limited numbers making it a rare and highly sought-after model. It remains an icon in the motorcycle world, celebrated for its engineering brilliance, exclusivity, and the bold vision it represented.
