[art #385]. Limited Edition Print by Steve Dunn.

The Ducati 1098, introduced in 2007, marked a return to Ducati's design roots while delivering cutting-edge performance. The 1098 was a direct response to feedback from enthusiasts and racers, combining the best aspects of Ducati's superbike heritage with modern technology. Powered by a 1099cc Testastretta Evoluzione L-twin engine, the 1098 produced 160bhp, making it one of the most powerful twin-cylinder motorcycles of its time. The bike's design was a homage to the iconic 916, with its clean lines, underseat exhaust, and minimalist aesthetic, but it also featured modern touches like a digital dash and a lighter, stronger chassis. The 1098 was equipped with top-shelf components, including fully adjustable suspension from Showa (and Öhlins on the S and R models), Brembo monoblock brakes, and a slipper clutch, all contributing to its superb handling and braking performance. The Ducati 1098 was a critical and commercial success, lauded for its blend of power, agility, and timeless design, and it remains a beloved model in Ducati's illustrious superbike line-up.
